Job description
We are seeking a highly‑organised, detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to support our finance and operations team across two businesses. This is a part‑time role with flexible working hours (equivalent to 3 days per week).
Key responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records using Xero. Process purchase invoices and payments. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations. Raise and issue sales invoices for recurring and miscellaneous income, prepare monthly revenue reports. Credit control: ensure tenant accounts are paid in a timely manner, chase arrears and support debt recovery processes. Prepare and submit VAT returns. Handle the full payroll cycle using Xero payroll, including calculating wages, deductions and pensions. Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Assist with monthly management accounts, audit preparations and end‑of‑year accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts promptly. Admin tasks including mailbox scanning, holiday tracking and supplier checks. Experience and qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting department. Proficiency in Xero is essential. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills. AAT qualification or equivalent would be an advantage but is not essential.
