An established international manufacturing business is looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Analyst to join its Peterborough operation.
Working within a £40m UK business, you'll sit close to the operational teams and use financial information to understand what's happening behind performance, challenge the business and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
The business is going through a period of change and is looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking into Finance, whether that's improving reporting, embracing technology and automation or simply finding smarter and quicker ways of doing things.
The Role
Reporting into the senior finance team, you'll take responsibility for a broad mix of financial analysis, reporting and business partnering, including:Budgeting, forecasting and performance reportingP&L and variance analysisScenario modelling and commercial analysisRevenue recognition and order reportingMargin and cost of sales analysisCapital project analysisWIP and balance sheet reconciliationsUtilisation and efficiency reportingProviding KPIs and meaningful insight to the wider businessPartnering teams including Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, Technical and Project ManagementSupporting improvements to systems, processes and reportingSupporting and deputising for the Financial Controller when requireYou'll be encouraged to question what you see rather than simply report it. If something doesn't make commercial sense, they'll want you to investigate it, challenge it and help improve it.
About You
Ideally you'll be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although we're equally interested in speaking with experienced QBE accountants who have the right commercial mindset and want to continue developing.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering or another operational environment would be particularly useful, as would exposure to project accounting, costing, margins or revenue recognition.
More important, however, is how you operate. You'll be naturally inquisitive, confident enough to challenge stakeholders and comfortable working with people outside Finance. You'll enjoy improving processes, using technology and finding better ways of doing things.
This could particularly suit someone currently working as a Finance Analyst, Senior Finance Analyst, Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner who wants greater commercial and operational exposure.
